LEVEL 1

This is the entry level course and the first rung on the IRATA rope access career ladder. All Rope access equipment will be provided along with a comprehensive training manual.

Building on the skills and experience learned at level 2, the IRATA level 3 course goes further into rescue, complex rigging techniques and job management. All Rope access equipment will be provided along with a comprehensive training manual.

This is the entry level course and the first rung on the IRATA rope access career ladder. All Rope access equipment will be provided along with a comprehensive training manual.

Course syllabus includes:

  • Ascent & descent

  • Changing from ascent to descent

  • Changing from rope to rope

  • Passing a knot

  • Aid climbing and traversing

  • Passing re-anchors and deviations

  • Use of a back-up system

  • Elementary rigging and rope management

  • Elementary rescue

  • On successful completion on the IRATA level 1 course candidates will receive a certificate, logbook and ID card that is valid anywhere in the world.

Course includes:

  • 4 days training

  • 1 day independent assessment

  • In the unlikely event of a failed assessment we offer all candidates a whole extra week of FREE training and re-assessment.

Building on the skills and experience learned at level 1 the IRATA level 2 course goes further into rescue and complex rigging techniques. All rope access equipment will be provided along with a comprehensive training manual.

Course syllabus includes:

  • Refreshing level 1 techniques

  • Vertical aid climbing

  • Rigging ropes at height

  • Tensioned lines

  • Ascent rescue

  • Rescue through re-anchors

  • Rescue through deviations

  • Rope to rope transfer rescue

  • Rescue from aid

  • Hauling techniques

Course includes:

  • 4 days training

  • 1 day independent assessment

  • In the unlikely event of a failed assessment we offer all candidates a whole extra week of FREE training and re-assessment.

 

Prerequisites:
The minimum age requirement is 19. Previous rope access experience must be at least 1000 logged hours and 12 months as an IRATA Level 1 technician. Appropriate physical and mental aptitude for technical tasks while working at height is important. Candidates will have to lift their own body weight multiple times during the week. Candidates will be required to sign a Statement of Medical Condition confirming the absence of known medical conditions that might preclude their ability to safely work at height.

Building on the skills and experience learned at level 2, the IRATA level 3 course goes further into rescue, complex rigging techniques and job management. All rope access equipment will be provided along with a comprehensive training manual.

Course syllabus includes:

  • Refreshing level 1 & 2 techniques

  • Risk assessments / Method statements

  • In depth equipment inspection

  • Rescue past knots

  • Double deviation rescue

  • Rescue through a loop / Mid – transfer rescue

  • Complex team rescue

  • Short link rescue

  • Rescue with tensioned lines

Course includes:

  • 4 days training

  • 1 day independent assessment

  • In the unlikely event of a failed assessment we offer all candidates a whole extra week of FREE training and re-assessment.
